The moment we learned it
It started with a question. Can AI tell a story on its own?
Over 100,000 views a month. A growing audience. Nothing spent on promotion.
Alim Idrissou went looking for the answer in public. He built an audience across social platforms with the most advanced cinematic AI tools available, and by every metric the internet rewards, it worked.
Then two things happened. Viewers started calling it “AI slop.” They sensed something was wrong before they could name it.
And Alim went to work testing AI systems for a living. His job was to find exactly where the world's most advanced models break down when they reason. Day after day, he watched them get things wrong with complete confidence.
Then he turned that same lens on what he had been publishing. To explain history, he had been generating images of events that never looked that way. Faces that never existed. Moments that never happened. He was inventing history in order to teach history. The tool made it effortless. That was the problem.
So he deleted all of it. Every account. Every video. Every view.
Then he built the tool he should have had from the beginning.
What we are up against
- Give a tool a real photograph, and it improves it into a scene that never existed.
- Ask it about a real person, and it generates a face out of nothing.
- Give it eight seconds of footage, and the next eight contradict it.
A video that looks stunning and teaches something false has failed.

If it is not in your script, your document or your images, it does not appear on the board.
Real stays real — and we say which kind of real
Artwork you upload becomes the board exactly as you supplied it: no reinterpretation, no credit spent. That is scene replacement, and it starts on the Studio plan. A reference image is a different thing — it guides what we draw rather than surviving into the video, and we would rather tell you that than let you assume your photograph made it through untouched.

Saying no is part of the work
People ask us for avatars and cinematic scenes. We tested both and said no. Every feature must make explanation more truthful or the product more reliable. Nothing else gets built.

TimaLens turns your words into animated whiteboard explanations. Equations render in LaTeX and draw themselves. Charts come from your data. Archival images stay exactly as history left them.

In the year 859, a woman named Fatima al-Fihri founded al-Qarawiyyin in Fez.
It is still open today.
UNESCO and the Guinness Book of Records recognise it as the oldest existing, continually operating higher-educational institution in the world.
She inherited wealth and spent all of it on a place where anyone could come and learn. She did not put her name on the door.
“Tima” comes from her name. “Lens” is our promise: a clearer way to see.
We build in her direction.
One standard, every subject
Al-Qarawiyyin was a place where scholars studied astronomy, mathematics and medicine beside theology. Different fields, one standard:
Tell the truth about what you know. Stay silent about what you do not.
Science runs on evidence. The formula must be correct. The chart must reflect real data.
History runs on trust. One invented detail corrupts everything built on top of it.
A tool that fabricates what it cannot know is not making a small error. It is breaking the trust that both depend on. TimaLens refuses to fabricate.
Who we are
Alim Idrissou
FounderBefore TimaLens, Alim designed original olympiad-level problems — at IMO, HMMT and AIME difficulty — built to find exactly where the world's most advanced AI models fail at reasoning. That work showed him what his own videos had become, and what to build instead.

Co-founderAlim's brother. When it all came down and only an idea was left, he helped turn it into a product. His background in e-commerce brought TimaLens to its first users at launch in August 2026.

Co-founderGalo runs a video production studio and teaches web development and video creation. He joined to bring that studio experience into TimaLens and scale the impact it was already making. He is also precisely the person we build for, which makes him our hardest critic. He and Alim were colleagues at an edtech company; one left for a studio, the other for AI research, and they came back together for this.
TimaLens started as two brothers agreeing on one thing: knowledge should reach people intact.
